What happens if I don't renew

Steps you can take if you haven't renewed your registration in time or want to leave the Register

Professional bodies

These organisations do work which may include promoting the profession, representing members, curriculum frameworks, post registration education and training and continuing professional development.

Supporting employees to renew their registration

Our registrants need to renew their registration every two years, and if they don't they may be removed from the Register

Being selected for a CPD audit

If you are picked as part of the random sample for audit, we will send you information about completing your CPD profile

How we work

We have produced an animation to explain how we operate and how the HCPC benefits both registrants and service users

Readmission

This section is for applicants who have previously been on the Register and would like to re-join it.

Returning to practice

Information about the process you need to complete if you are returning to practice after a break of more than two years

Completing a CPD profile for audit

If selected for CPD audit, you'll be asked to submit a profile as proof of your activities and how they meet the standards for CPD

Student competition

Each year, we run a competition for students who, at the time of entry, are enrolled on an HCPC-approved pre-registration programme.

Customer feedback

As an organisation, our aim is to provide the best customer service we can for all our registrants and stakeholders

Diversity data

Our dashboard shows key equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) information with regards to the characteristics of HCPC registrants

Standards

Our standards form the foundation for how we regulate, explaining what we expect of our registrants and education and training programmes.

Remote supervision

Case study: Raff is a hearing aid dispenser working in independent practice. He has just started running his own business as a sole practitioner in a remote location in the Scottish Highlands.

Request confirmation of your registration status

This is also known as a certificate of current professional status (CCPS) or letter of good standing. You may require this if you're applying for a job or registration in a country outside the UK.
