HCPC fee rise approved by Parliaments

29 Ebr 2025

Following our consultation with registrants, professional bodies, trade unions, and the public last year, the legislation to implement our latest proposed fee increase has now been approved in both the UK and Scottish Parliaments.

As part of our approach to pursue smaller and more regular increases to our annual registration fee, we are introducing a small increase of £6.98 which will take the annual HCPC fee to £123.34. The new fee will come into effect from 29 April 2025. This will mean any applicants who submit their application on or after this date will pay the new fee.

The rise will play an important part in enabling us to continue to fulfil our statutory duty to protect patients and service users – from dealing with a 26% rise in FTP referrals, through to making essential improvements over the next three years. The proposed increase is the minimum amount necessary to continue to fund our programme of critical investments.

Existing registrants will pay the new fee when their profession is next up for registration renewal. You will continue to make payments (if paying by direct debit) at the old rate, until your profession enters its next renewal cycle.

Due to the nature of our registrant renewal cycles (taking place every two years), the majority of our registrants will not start paying the increased fee until 2026. Paramedics and orthoptists will be the first professions to renew their registration at the new rate from 1 June 2025.
