HCPC's first ever Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Week starts today (Monday 3 March)
Over the coming days we will be showcasing resources, sharing good practice and publishing materials designed to support registrants with their CPD.
Registrants and employers can choose from lots of ways to get involved, or browse our key activities and resources to watch out for. We'll be hosting a registrant-focused webinar all about the CPD audit on Wednesday 5 March.
Each day of the week will explore a key theme, designed to support professionals with their CPD and highlight to the public the continued learning health and care professionals undertake to maintain their registration with the HCPC:
- Monday: What is CPD and why does it matter?
- Tuesday: Carrying out and recording CPD
- Wednesday: The HCPC audit: What it is and how to get through it
- Thursday: Employer support for effective CPD
- Friday: 'Do what works for you': How to tailor CPD to your role
You can also engage with the campaign on social media, using the hashtag #CPDWeek2025.
CPD is integral to enabling our registrants to provide safe and effective care to the public. When someone is being treated by a professional who is regulated by us, we want them to feel safe in the knowledge that they are keeping up to date with the latest clinical and technological developments.
Our CPD week draws on our unique position as a multi-profession regulator to help different registrants share what works for them and play our part in supporting high quality care.
Professional development is an extremely important part of our registrants’ careers and it’s important for patients too. We’ve launched CPD Week to highlight how important this is, and to also showcase the fantastic work done by those we regulate to ensure they’re providing the very best treatment and care to patients and service users.
