Social workers in England and Operating department practitioners: Important information about renewing your registration

We are currently experiencing extremely high call volumes to the Registration Department and are working hard to respond to these as quickly as possible.

Before you call us, have a look at our online resources and frequently asked questions below, as this may save you waiting to speak to an advisor.

Confirmation you have renewed

  • You can confirm that you have successfully renewed on the Online Register which holds the most up to date registration status information.

Paying by direct debit

  • If you pay by direct debit, you can check the online register to ensure that you have renewed successfully once we have collected the first instalment.

Registration Certificates

  • If you have successfully renewed, registration certificates and cards will be issued automatically and can take up to 15 working days to arrive.

Do not leave your renewal until the last minute...

The deadline for your renewal is midnight on 30 November 2016. Please do not leave it too late as your name will be removed from the Register if you have not renewed by this date.

If this happens you will not be able to practise as a social worker or operating department practitioner. You will need to reapply to the Register and you may be asked to pay a readmission fee.
